Judge Mathis is Awesome!!!

newpittsburghcourieronline.com/articlelive/au...

Judge Mathis is so REAL so down to earth, and one of the best Judges on TV. Definitely the funniest. He is incredibly intuitive and very good at reading people's character.

Judge Mathis takes about .5 seconds to decifer any given situation and this is what makes him one of the best judges. Judge Mathis is also well versed in his history of African Americans. But you don't have to take my word for it:

Go Judge Mathis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Judge Hatchett

Judge Hatchett is so awesome!!! She is a visionary in the feild of law and also in juvenile rehabilitation. She has revolutionized rehabilitation options for troubled youth. Her show is always cool to watch and I really feel that she cares about each and every one of the young lives that she changes.

Judge Hatchett is an amazing role model for young girls everywhere, being selected out of the hundreds of thousands of lawyers in the United States to be appointed as a Judge is no easy feat. Judge Hatchett has accomplished this and so much more. Kudos to Judge Hatchett you are extraordinary I look up to you.

Self Hate

So today I would like to talk a little about the all too familiar problem that plagues too many ... SELF HATE. Unfortunately many people globally suffer from this horrible problem. The only thing that I would like to clarify about this issue is that it is not something that only minorities suffer from.

Anyone can become vulnerable to self hate regardless of their ethnicity. Self Hate has to do with what one expects to see when they look in the mirror as opposed to what they actually look like. What someone expects to look like can be influenced by society and and beauty standards. What someone actually looks like is what it is regardless to how often society's expectations and beauty standards change.

Self hate begins when what someone expects or would like to look like does not match up with the reality of their appearance. Some examples of self hate include and are not limited to, someone disliking their nose because it does not look the type of nose that they consider beautiful, someone disliking their breast size, height, hair color, body shape or build, hair texture or length.

Some more detailed examples can include a darker haired person who believes that lighter hair is beautiful so now they dislike or "hate" their natural hair color and would like to change it. Another example of self hate could include someone who dislikes their nose shape because they believe that a beautiful nose looks like a shape that is different from their own, therefore they may begin to "hate" their own nose shape and seek to change it by undergoing plastic surgery.

Whether the person who is suffering from self hate that can be soothed by dieting, body building, dying their hair, or getting plastic surgery it is still a very serious problem that is mental and should be treated with counseling and a physical change only as a last resort.

It is un-natural and mentally unhealthy for anyone to dislike what they see in the mirror. This disassociation with the self could fester into self hate and should be treated as soon as possible.

Even though this video below is not theonly form of self hate it is one popular one:

Montel Williams

Montel Williams was born in Baltimore MD. He started his career as an out spoken individual early on by participating in the student busing movement.
Williams enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1974. Only a year later, he was accepted into the United States Naval Academy. Montel graduated with a degree in engineering and a minor in international security affairs. Upon graduation, Williams was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy.

Williams served on the USS Sampson during the U.S. invasion of Grenada. His awards include the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, two Navy Expeditionary Medals, two Humanitarian Service Medals, a Navy Achievement Medal, two Navy Commendation Medals and two Meritorious Service Medals. After 12 years of military service he finished as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy.

Montel began The Montel Wiliams Show in 1991. The show ran for 17 successful years. Montel is very outspoken, and a unique talk show host. Montel is seen below taking up for the many American heroes who have lost their lives in Iraq.

Montel Williams was a great talk show host, and The Montel Williams Show is missed :(

I admire Montel a great deal and he has earned his spot at number 27 on Leiomi Nala's Corner Black History Month Countdown.
GO MONTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carter G. Woodson

Opening up my Black History Month Blogs, I would like to acknowledge Mr. Carter G Woodson. After all if it was not for Carter G Woodson we wouldn't even have Black History Month.

Carter G Woodson was born in 1875 in Virginia. He was the son of two former enslaved parents. Carter recognized early on that the history and life struggle of the African American was ignored. This inspired Carter to start the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History. He also began the Journal of Negro History.

In 1926, Woodson began the celebration of "Negro History Week", he planned this week to coincide with marking Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass's birthdays. The week was later extended to the entire month [give us an inch ;)] and renamed Black History Month.

Carter G Woodson, was an amazing leader and thanks to him we now have Black History month :) *claps for Carter G Woodson*

Mike Phelps Bong Picture

Wow so what does this mean?? Initially nothing..well that is until Mike himself actually came out an apologized for this photo. Personally I think he would have done better with a no comment, but I admire him for stepping up and admitting to smoking.

At the end of the day i still see Mike Phelps as an American Hero, an inspiration to youth everywhere and more than anything else a great human being....we all make mistakes. One day when marijuana is legalized we will all look back at this and either laugh or shake our heads at how he is being ridiculously criticized.

GO MIKE PHELPS WE LOVE YOUUUUU!!!!!!
